Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and trackers are, which ones Tembo uses on its B2B ticketing and networking platform, for what purpose, on what legal basis, and how you can manage them or withdraw your consent. Tembo is established in Tunis, Tunisia, and operates across Africa. Any personal data collected through cookies is processed in accordance with Tunisian law, in particular Organic Law No. 2004-63 of 27 July 2004 on the protection of personal data, under the supervision of the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (INPDP). For full details on how we process your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy, which this policy supplements.
3. Legal basis for setting cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure service, and the performance of the contract when you use our services (login, ticket purchase). They do not require your consent.
Non-essential cookies — audience measurement and, where applicable, marketing/retargeting — are set only with your prior, free, informed and specific consent, obtained before any cookie is placed. Until you have consented, these cookies are not activated. You may withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Where these cookies lead to the processing of personal data, that processing is governed by Organic Law No. 2004-63 of 27 July 2004, under the supervision of the INPDP. On a supplementary and voluntary basis, Tembo aligns its tracker-consent practices with recognized international standards, in line with its "GDPR-compliant" commitment, without the GDPR being the primary legal basis, which remains Tunisian law.
- Strictly necessary cookies: no consent required (legitimate interest / performance of the contract).
- Non-essential cookies: prior, free, informed and specific consent, obtained before placement.
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given.
- Associated personal data: Organic Law No. 2004-63 and INPDP supervision.
5. Managing and withdrawing your consent
You may express, change or withdraw your choices regarding non-essential cookies at any time. Where a consent manager (banner or preference center) is offered on the platform, you can use it to accept, refuse or configure cookies category by category, and revisit your choice later.
Independently of this manager, you can configure your browser to accept or refuse cookies, to be warned before they are placed, or to delete cookies already stored. The procedure varies by browser and is described in its help or settings menu (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
Refusing or deleting strictly necessary cookies via the browser may prevent the platform from working properly (see the "Consequences of refusal" section).
- Consent manager (where applicable): accept, refuse or configure by category, and revisit your choice.
- Browser settings: accept, refuse, be alerted, or delete stored cookies.
- Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it and takes effect going forward.
- For any question: contact@tembo-event.com.
6. Cookie retention periods
The lifespan of a cookie depends on its purpose. Session cookies expire when you close your browser, whereas persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until they are deleted. The consent obtained for non-essential cookies is kept for a limited period, after which you are asked for your choice again.
Indicative periods by category are as follows:
- Session and authentication cookies: for the duration of the session; expiring on logout or browser closure.
- Language/locale preference and consent choice: generally up to 6 to 12 months.
- Audience-measurement cookies: a limited period that we endeavor to keep to the strict minimum, indicatively on the order of 13 months at most.
- Marketing/retargeting cookies (where applicable): a limited period, and never without consent.
- At the end of these periods, the cookie expires or consent is requested again.
7. Consequences of refusal
You are free to refuse non-essential cookies: this refusal has no impact on your access to the platform's main features. You will still be able to log in, browse events, purchase a ticket and use networking.
Strictly necessary cookies, however, cannot be disabled without degrading the service: blocking them via your browser may prevent you from logging into your account, completing a purchase, or may compromise the security of your session.
Refusing audience-measurement cookies deprives us of certain improvement statistics but does not reduce the services offered to you in any way.
- Refusing non-essential cookies: no impact on access to the main features.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies: login, purchase or session security potentially prevented.
- Refusing audience measurement: no reduction in the services provided.
8. Changes to the policy and version
We may amend this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our services, the technologies used, or regulations. Any substantial change will be brought to your attention by appropriate means (notice on the platform or a renewed request for your consent where applicable).
The version in force is the one published on this page. For the processing of your personal data, refer to our Privacy Policy. Version: June 2026.
